Primary Eyecare Clinic
At LaserCare Eye Center, we offer a team of Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, and Opticians to provide the full breadth of Eye Care for all your needs under one roof. We are a one-stop shop for your eyes.
The American Academy Ophthalmology recommends that all patients have their eyes examined regularly. This allows maintenance of eye health and early detection of disease. At LaserCare Eye Center, we specialize in both Medical and Surgical treatment of the Eye.
For patients, who don’t need surgery or are in the post-operative period after surgery, we offer appointments in our Primary Eye Care Clinics. We offer Comprehensive Exams for both Adults and Children.
The following are our general guidelines for Exams in our office:
Adults with no risk factors for eye disease*
- 18-39: At age 20 and then every 1-2 years.
- 40-55: At age 40 and then every 1-2 years.
- 55-65: Every 1-2 years.
- Over 65: Every year
Children with no risk factors for eye disease*
- Age 4: All children should have a screening exam by this age.
- School-age children: 1-2 years
*Note: Patients with family or personal risk factors for Glaucoma, Diabetes, Macular degeneration or any other eye/health disease should be evaluated more frequently.
We offer 4 different types of Exam
Comprehensive Eye Exam
- Complete exam of the front and back of the eye including dilation.
- Goal: To establish good eye health and to detect early signs of disease.
- You should plan to either wear sunglasses or have someone drive you home.
- Provided by one of our Ophthalmologists or Doctors of Optometry.
- Billed to: Medical Insurance and Cash.
Vision Exam
- Less detailed exam of the front of the eye.
- Does not include dilation.
- Goal: To check vision and provide a glasses prescription.
- Requires a Comprehensive Eye Exam in our office at least every year.
- Provided by one of our Doctors of Optometry.
- Billed to: Vision insurance or Cash.
Contact Lens Exam
- Less detailed exam of the front of the eye.
- Does not include dilation.
- Goal: To check vision and provide a contact lens prescription.
- Requires a Comprehensive Eye Exam in our office at least eye year.
- You should plan to either wear sunglasses or have someone drive you home.
- Provided by one of our Doctors of Optometry.
- Billed to: Vision insurance or Cash.
Optical Evaluation
- An evaluation for glasses.
- Provided by one of our Opticians.
- Billed to: Vision insurance or Cash.
