If you desire to be free from the inconvenience of glasses and contact lenses, you may be a candidate for LASIK. A comprehensive eye exam and testing must be performed in order to determine if your eyes qualify for this surgery. You may be a good candidate if you…

• are 18 years or older
• have had a stable glasses or contact lens prescription for 2 years
• do not have corneal or other eye diseases, prior eye injuries or surgeries
• are not pregnant or planning to become pregnant in the next 6 months
• do not have excessively dry eyes

A good candidate must be at least 18 years old and have a stable prescription. You must also be near-sighted up to -12.00 or far-sighted up to +6.00. Your level of astigmatism may be as high as 6.00 diopters. You should not be pregnant or have any unstable medical condition, or any uncontrolled eye diseases.
